You’ve been asking and here it is - Circus is now offering one-on-one sessions! Each session will be specifically catered to your needs, so whether you’ve printed before and need a quick refresher, or have never touched a squeegee, we have you covered.

October BYOS with the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society
Join us for our October BYOS event, where the wonderful Mohawk Hudson Humane Society will be on hand to help celebrate our love for animals. They will be accepting donations for their amazing Pet Food Pantry so please be sure to bring some goodies for all our furry friends in need.
In addition to printing this adorable graphic on any shirts or totes you bring in, we will also be giving away free pet bandanas while supplies last!
Circus is pet friendly so feel free to bring the whole family by for this fun event!

Print. Read. Resist - A Special Banned Books BYOS on First Friday
Ahead of Banned Books Week, Circus and Dilly Dally Books are teaming up for a First Friday celebration of books, creativity, and the freedom to read.
Dilly Dally Books will pop up at Circus with a selection of books and art, including titles and authors that have faced censorship and challenges across the country. Circus will host a special Bring Your Own Shirt (BYOS) screen-printing event featuring an original banned-books-inspired design created collaborating artist Portia Apple.
Guests can bring a shirt, tote, or other printable item, pull a print, browse books, connect with the community, and help spark conversation around why access to stories and ideas matters.
The event serves as a local kickoff to Banned Books Week, using printmaking, books, and community participation to celebrate intellectual freedom and the right to read.
September BYOS
September is National Suicide Prevention Month and to help spread awareness the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention will be on hand for the September BYOS. Swing by and bring something for us to print on! As always, BYOS is a FREE event. Look forward to seeing you!

The Resurrection of Nerdy by Nature
Join us as we celebrate The Resurrection of Nerdy by Nature. The event runs from 2-8pm, and we’ll be there printing from 3-5pm. We’ll be printing in WHITE ink so bring any color shirt except white. Hope to see you there!
Celebrate 50 Years with Honest Weight
Join us as we celebrate the Honest Weight Co-op’s 50th anniversary! We’ll be on-site printing a commemorative t-shirt designed by local artist Jeffrey Wright-Sedam so be sure to BRING YOUR OWN SHIRT! We’ll be printing in black ink, so bring any color except for black. The image is the same used for the August BYOS event, so in case you missed it, here’s another chance!

Anyone interested in a membership or project pass must attend an orientation session before they can use the equipment. This is also a great opportunity for us to answer any questions you may have about the shop!

Black August Block Party
Join in the annual Black August Block Party from 3pm-6pm on Sunday, August 23, hosted by the Party for Socialism and Liberation and held at the Stephen and Harriet Myers Residence, 194 Livingston Avenue, Albany.

Black August is honored every year to commemorate the fallen freedom fighters of the Black Liberation Movement, to call for the release of political prisoners, and to emphasize the continued importance of the Black Liberation struggle.

Arts in the City is back with another FREE, family-friendly creative experience and this time, we’re putting Albany on a T-shirt! 👕🎨
Join us Wednesday, August 19 at 5:30 PM at Circus & Tulip City Creative for Print Albany, a hands-on T-shirt printing experience with Circus, a community print shop located right in Albany’s Arbor Hill neighborhood. Circus & Tulip City Creative is opening its doors for an evening of creativity, giving you a chance to get hands-on with the screen-printing process and see how art goes from an idea to something you can actually wear.
Bring your own shirt and print a design featuring artwork by Albany artist Delphi (@delphnation). No experience needed, just BYOS: Bring Your Own (blank) Shirt! We’ll bring the ink, the screens and everything you need to leave with your own wearable piece of Albany art. This event is free to attend and suitable for all ages!

The Librarians Documentary Screening and Discussion @ The New York State Museum
From Oscar-nominated Director and Producer Kim A. Snyder ("Death By Numbers," “Newtown,” “Us Kids”) and Executive Producer Sarah Jessica Parker, “The Librarians” takes viewers from Texas to Florida and beyond, where local libraries have become unexpected battlegrounds in a national struggle over parental control, intellectual freedom, and democracy itself. Sparked by the controversial “Krause List” in Texas, which targets 850 books centered on race and LGBTQIA+ stories, the film takes a deep investigative dive into the escalating movement against book banning. The film captures the courage and resilience of the everyday heroes, librarians, as well as concerned parents and students flanking them, who have become first responders in the fight for the freedom to read, standing defiantly against censorship at all costs.
This event will begin with a screening of the film in the Huxley Theater, followed by a panel discussion with State Librarian Lauren Moore, New York Public Library Senior Director of Reading and Engagement and author Brian Jones, Past-President of the American Library Association Emily Drabinski, American Libraries columnist and Library Freedom Project member Reanna Esmail, and Amanda Hoffman, a former library assistant who fought for their community through the turmoil surrounding a Drag Queen Story Hour. They will discuss the challenges libraries face today, their personal experiences in the battle against censorship, and their suggestions for what libraries and their supporters can do in the continuing struggle for intellectual freedom.
The discussion will be moderated by James Paleologopoulos, Producer for WAMC/Northeast Public Radio’s On the Road, and will be recorded for later broadcast.
